People-Watching at Buckingham Fountain

(photos by Lee Bey)

I took my two younger daughters (8 & 12) to Buckingham Fountain. The people who had gathered there were just as interesting---more so, in many respects---than the fountain itself.

While we were there, my 8-year-old daughter asked if she could take a photo with my camera. She's a slender girl and I shoot with a pretty hefty Olympus E-3 DSLR with a battery holder and a 50-500mm lens that's as long as man's forearm. "Can you hold that thing?" I asked her. "Yes," she said. So I let her have it to see what she could do. And she snapped this:

 ...maybe she'll inherit this blog..

And maybe she'll post more! What's up dude?

She's off to a fine start. Some people's intuition is more valuable than a lifetime of training.
